A PLACE BOTH WONDERFUL AND STRANGE

We respectfully acknowledge that this event occurs on the ancestral lands of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe—(sdukʷalbixʷ) the People of the Moon. The Snoqualmie Tribe is the original steward of this land and has lived here since time immemorial.

The Snoqualmie Falls, which many fans will recognize as a landmark in Twin Peaks, holds profound spiritual significance for the Snoqualmie people. It is far more than a natural wonder or scenic backdrop—it is a sacred site central to the Tribe’s creation story, where prayers are carried up by the mist into the sky.

As we celebrate storytelling and community, we honor the enduring presence, cultural heritage, and sovereignty of the Snoqualmie people. We express gratitude for their stewardship of these lands and waters, and we recognize their ongoing contributions to the region.

We also acknowledge that this statement does not take the place of authentic relationships with Indigenous communities, but serves as a first step in honoring the land we occupy and resisting the erasure of Indigenous Peoples.

We invite all attendees to reflect on the deeper histories and connections of this place.
